We have just returned from the 6-day “Carpe Diem” base-trail, and we can honestly say it was perfect. Altavia Horses is, without a doubt, one of the most beautiful places on Earth.
Sandra and Carmine are the dream hosts. From the moment we arrived, we felt well taken care of – just like being at home with family. To make it even more cozy, there is a fireplace and an impressive collection of horse-related books in the house. The guest rooms are nicely decorated and provide the perfect place to rest after a day in the saddle.
The horses are extraordinary – smart, brave, and 100% trustworthy. Whether we were navigating steep climbs, descents, crossing rivers, or riding through towns, they remained calm and professional. A special shout-out to my wonderful horse, Ebe! The riding gear is also top-notch; you can tell that everything is maintained with great care.
We enjoyed breakfast outdoors and lovely lunches along the trail while taking in the views of the Abruzzo mountains. The only downside? You might find it hard to fit into your jeans by the end of the trip, because the home-cooked food is so delicious that it’s impossible to stop eating!
We will definitely be back – not just once, but many times!

I was on Carpe Diem track- wonderful landscapes, very interesting tracks that lead through forests, meadows, mountains and small villages. Like real cowboy you tie your horse in the centre of village, go to a bar and have your favourite drink It was like a dream that came true! The hosts Sandra and Carmine are fantastic, they take good care of everyone and their horses (which are fantastic, too). Highly recommend!

This experience was more than I could have ever dreamt. From the amazing hospitality Carmine and Sandra opened their home to us with the most incredible hospitality. Carmines authentic Italian cooking as like nothing I have tasted before. The riding experience was something out of a book, I never dreamt how breathtaking the views would be. When I read we would be riding through the mountains I don’t think I understood what that meant! All the horses were fantastic and well taken care of. I can’t wait to go back!!

For others who are thinking of going I recommend Altavia. Carmine and Sandra are both very welcoming, warm, attentive and helpful. The horses are great, seem happy and are well behaved. The riding was wonderful going through different nature, up and down the mountains and through small villages. It was a very nice vibe having four free horses going with us on the trail. The accommodations were comfortable and there is lots of food!

We were 6 days at the stud. The owners Sandra and Carmine are loving and attentive hosts. Carmine’s cooking skills are unique. But the daily riding trails were the most impressive thing we have ever experienced on horseback. TOP organized, it was varied every day, for hours through deserted nature parks, with magnificent views and many galloping opportunities. If you want to experience riding in its natural way, want to feel the deep natural connection between horse and rider, Altavia is the right place.Thomas

Ihr Lieben,bin seit einer Woche wieder zurück und in der Arbeitswelt. … Ich muss nochmal 1000x Mal Danke sagen für diese wundervolle Woche. Ich bin selten so runter gekommen in so wenigen Tagen und hatte soviel Glücksmomente. Konnte oft gar nicht fassen, wie schön es ist.
